Rodda’s Cornish clotted cream
Rodda’s is a family run company based near Redruth in Cornwall. They are a company with traditional values, who use traditional methods. They still use their 120 year-old secret recipe to produce their divine clotted cream, and their creamery is still on the same site as it was when the company first began making cream back in 1890. Whilst they sell their goods all over the UK from their website and Ocado, they source all their milk from farms within just 30 miles of their creamery.
Clotted cream is one of the only British foods that has been awarded Protected Designation of Origin status (PDO). Just as Champagne can only be produced from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France, clotted cream can only be made in Cornwall with milk from Cornish cows, which are allowed to graze outside on the fertile Cornish land. Indeed, Rodda’s clotted cream is unquestionably the Champagne of dairy products.
Rodda’s clotted cream is the thickest, richest, smoothest, most decadent cream you can imagine. Steeped in tradition, it’ll make you want to put on a pretty, floral dress, bring out the best chinaware, and have cream tea in the garden. Add a spoonful of Rodda’s clotted cream to any sweet and thoroughly British treat you can think of, and you’ll have a match made in heaven. Strawberries, crumble and treacle tart would all be proud to wear an adorning dollop of this beautifully indulgent clotted cream.
Rodda’s creameries produce a whole spectrum of other dairy products, including crème fraiche, butter milk, and yogurt. They also produce shortbread, and, taking clotted cream further up the ladder of luxury, clotted cream fudge!
